Dawn Howarth
Dawn’s early career was in London publishing where she worked as a junior editor at one of the world’s largest publishers and then as a literary agent. After moving back to the Cornwall of her childhood to raise her own family, she continued to work as a freelance editor and writer as well as teaching creative writing.

After decades of practising yoga and meditation herself, she trained to teach these skills to children and teenagers. She has since founded Mindful Kids Cornwall and has worked with schools, youth groups and mental health organisations throughout the county. She shares the ways this ancient wisdom can bring children and adolescents greater happiness and the chance to flourish.

Through this work it became clear how prolific the issue of tiredness is in schools and in wider society. Dawn became a sleep consultant and includes this skill in all her work with young people. She recently completed The Family Guide to Better Sleep: step-by-step techniques for healthier sleep and happier children, teenagers and adults. This book brings together every aspect of her experience and knowledge.
When not teaching or writing, Dawn is an amateur potter, vegetable grower and knitter of socks. She lives with her husband, children and pets.
